The AWS Technical Essentials Day will introduce you to the wide spectrum of AWS products, services, and common solutions. You’ll be able to learn the fundamentals of identifying AWS services so that you’ll be able to make informed decisions about IT solutions based on the business requirements of the organization that you’ll be working in.
Intended Audience
This course is intended for: Faculties and students from BUILD-IT academic partners who are interested in AWS technologies, and all students who wants to participate in ASU/AWS Hackathon.
Course Outline
This course covers the following concepts:
- Introduction and benefit of the AWS Educate programs
- Cloud computing and AWS: Models and deployments, benefits of deploying resources in AWS, AWS Global Infrastructure
- AWS foundational services: Management Console, types of Compute (EC2), networking in AWS (VPC), AWS Lambda (serverless architecture) for Compute, Storage services options (EBS and S3) and Amazon RDS vs DynamoDB (NoSQL)
- AWS services for smart city applications: Big Data on AWS (Analytics) with Amazon QuickSight, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena and Amazon Kinesis, AWS IoT Platform (Just focus on IoT), AWS Mobile Services, AWS Mobile Hub and Mobile SDK features, Artificial Intelligence with Amazon Lex, Amazon Polly and Amazon Recognition.
Participants are advised to bring along a laptop to maximize the benefits of the workshop.
